Prior to the debut of Doga Kobo's Oshi no Ko anime, the series was ranked as the #1 Most Anticipated anime of the Spring 2023 season, beating Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc by a significant margin. By October 2022, that number had increased to 3 million. In April 2021, roughly one year after its debut, the manga already had over 1 million copies in circulation worldwide.
